We all have opinions and were all unique. But who decides if where authentic or not.
Who decides one way or another what is right or wrong for us.
It should be us, but from the time we are born we are learning how to be by others.
Sure, this is how we learn how to do things, how to act but eventually, we come of
age where we need to take our own life into our own hands.
Whether you’ve gained good knowledge from your parents, siblings or not, the end
game is living free from other’s expectations and living true to yourself.
But what is that, living true to yourself and how can we find it in ourselves so we can reach for
and experience it, no matter what anyone else says?
But it also comes down to perspective, right!
My perspective of authenticity and living true to myself is and will be different to everyone else.
So, what is the meaning “Authenticity”?
My perspective. To me, authenticity means ‘I am true to my own Personality, Spirit, Heart,
Values and Core Beliefs.
And in my authenticity, I get to decide on how I am going to handle when I am not being authentic.
Not anyone else. I think I am giving my authenticity away when I allow others to judge whether I am or not.
Today, I may be able to stay authentic but tomorrow, who knows? It can be a struggle to stay true to yourself.
Most of my life I knew the word “Authentic”, but I never really gave it much thought internally.
But today I know in my own mind and body when I am not for whatever reasons it may be from.
And that’s gold to me.
I think being aware of yourself and your surroundings is the first step of learning how to be authentic
and I believe that that’s the start of an evolutionary break through.
Just acknowledge how you’re feeling. It only takes a minute. Check in with yourself daily.
You will feel something for sure. Whether it’s Love, Fear, Anger, Joy, Sadness, loss or loneliness.
There are so many feelings it can be.
It helps just to acknowledge whatever you’re feeling and go, It’s ok!
Be kind to yourself and give yourself a hug and if that embarrasses you then imagine it.
All my life I never understood the true meaning of being kind to myself especially when I
was in situations where I wasn’t being true to myself.
Did I make mistakes, hell yeah! Did I give up my sovereignty at times, damn yeah! Will I be in
authenticity 100% of the time. Common, really!
Give yourself a break. We can be our biggest critic without anyone else joining in the party.
As long as were moving forward learning from our mistakes trying not to repeat them.
Living in authenticity to me is a statement that can be far away from reality to some and that in itself
can be limiting.
One step at a time will do it. Don’t try and reach too far ahead of yourself and try and be in the moment
of things and enjoy yourself today.
Be kind to yourself.
Now that to me is moving toward being “Authentic”!
